Dreamy Glamping in Your Own Private Redwood Grove

Enjoy the private setting of this romantic spot in your own private redwood grove.

You’ll immediately notice the intense quiet + incredible forest air. Sip your morning coffee as you watch the fog creep and deer peek. Hike directly onto the La Honda Creek Redwoods preserve. On rainy days, listen to the raindrops, sip ramen or enjoy a cozy nap. Grill onsite, or try one of the legendary restaurants nearby. At night, peep ALL the night stars and roast marshmallows with your bae ❤️.

The space

Layout: This is a single, open dome with no space dividers inside. The bathroom is a separate little building on the deck behind the dome easily accessed.

Bathroom:

***We have a private porta potty that is serviced (waste removed) twice a week and wiped down clean externally before each check-in. It is directly next to the shower building. This means there may be waste in the unit when you arrive if is a service off day (how porta potties work). Most people find this adequate. However, we know this off grid solution isn’t for everyone, so please be aware.***

The shower building has a hot water shower, a sink, and free plant-based all natural soap, shampoo, conditioner. No need to pack any bath soaps!

Sleep:

—King bed with soft, high-end mattress with lush, fluffy bedding.

—6” Foam queen mattress and bedding stored under the king bed is great for kids

Kitchen: fridge, freezer, drinking water dispenser, induction cooktop and pots, cutlery plates cups mugs etc. Olive oil, salt, pepper, coffee tea etc!

Cozy Comfort: WIFI, AC unit, fan, space heater, cozy throw blankets, rain ponchos, board games, books and kids toys.

Private Outdoor Space: hammock, swing chair, propane grill, propane fire pit, dining table + cantilever umbrella.

Parking: 1 space that is just steps from the dome’s front door.

Guest access

The immediate dome site in the listing. Our property is 18 acres and our house is on the other side of our lot fully separated, further up the road. We devolved this Dome site to give people real privacy within nature.

There is access to hiking on the Open Space Redwood Preserve that is. See photos and directions about the private entrance to this from our street.

Other things to note

Rates already include cleaning fees.

Please note that the deck is a raised platform with no railing and the terrain has some drop offs. Please watch small children carefully.

Water in the bathroom and shower is from our well and while very clean, it is not fully filtered for drinking. Drinking water is available in the auto water dispenser inside the dome.

Satellite Starlink WiFi is strong when it works but goes in and out at times with the weather and other environmental obstructions given the location in the redwood grove.

Please only put toilet paper in portable toilet. All else must go in a garbage bag.

We have space heaters for the winter and the fluffiest warm king bed. We have a portable AC unit for hot days.

Propane tanks heat the fire pit, gas grill, and shower water. We have extra propane tanks on site. If one runs out during a stay, the guest will need to replace with a new tank. We are not able to come to the site to do this ourselves during your stay however. **Please use propane appliances conservatively as gas is expensive. Gas appliances should not be left running long or left unattended.*

Our site is in the redwoods outside any city. It does happen from time to time that a storm knocked out the electricity for the neighborhood or PGE turns it off to do repairs etc. please be aware and get trip insurance if an outage or other natural / weather related issue would ruin your trip. 😊

Additionally this is a rustic site. At times if the door is left open, insects can get into the dome and may need to be swept out. If food or garbage is left accessible it will attract animals and insects. We do our best to exist within nature without disturbing it or having it disturb us. We have a magnetic screen door that you can put up to let air into the dome but block insects. There also will be some dirt. It is a tent in the forest and while we do our best to keep it very clean, sand and dirt and leaves and even an ant or house fly can happen 😉.

In the summer the dome can get hot in the afternoon. We have a portable AC to help cool down the space but this doesn’t mean total temperature control like you’d have in a hotel.
